The short version: I was born in Scotland, grew up in Florida, and took a detour through Calgary — where my first job was in coffee (foreshadowing, it turns out). I came back to Florida, and that's where I've built my entire professional career: from restaurant POS systems and door manufacturing to education technology and HubSpot mastery.
I'm self-taught in JavaScript and React. Not in a "did a tutorial once" way — in a "built a production custom HubSpot app called CARL that real teams rely on every day" way. I learned by needing to solve problems nobody else could solve.
When I'm not building systems, I'm pulling espresso shots (certified Coffee Master, genuinely), leading my son's Cub Scout den, 3D printing something probably unnecessary, or planning the next trip to Walt Disney World.
